If your honeymoon isn’t the one time to have a completely over-the-top, once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience, then whatever will be? Now’s your time to venture out to the most remote corners of the world and explore destinations that might otherwise not be possible!
An African Safari
Have an adventure-packed safari in Botswana, Tanzania or Kenya. Get swept up in the striking landscapes, luxury campsites, magnificent wild animals, and classic romance. You’ll do game tours during the day, and then retire at night to lodges where you will dine, relax and sleep under the stars.
Bora Bora
Bora Bora is a South Pacific island located in French Polynesia and is one of the most romantic places in the world. With the emerald-green volcanic craters in the distance, crystal-clear and turquoise blue water, and secluded strings of overwater bungalows it’s a complete private oasis. While you could easily be content spending your entire time relaxing in the privacy of your bungalow or hotel pool and spa, there are plenty of excursions and activities to do as well.
Marocco
In Morocco, you’ll discover a country that is full of ancient charm. As you make your way through the cities of Marrakesh, Fes and Tangier, you’ll see breathtaking architecture, jaw-dropping interiors, secret courtyard gardens, and labyrinth markets full of spices, home goods and artisan crafts. Tour grand tiled-palaces, drink mint tea, visit the spa, ride a camel through the desert, or surf at the beach.
France
The appeal of France is entirely obvious. There’s world-class dining, celebrated architecture, elusive style, magnificent castles and charming coastal cities. So prepare to indulge in fantastic cuisine, rich culture, and coastal extravagance. Start in Paris and explore the city by foot, wandering around the quaint arrondissements to take in the sights. Get your fill of museums, the opera, or ballet but make sure to spend plenty of time eating, drinking, and shopping in one of the chicest and most magical cities in the world. Next take your pick of castle touring in the Loire Valley, wine tasting in Bordeaux, exploring the lavender fields of Provence, or sunbathing on the French Riviera.
Italy
Italy is a complete and total dream, so it may seem impossible to pick where to go when everywhere is so spectacular! To get a little taste of everything, start in a major city like Rome or Florence to get your fill of culture and history. Spend a couple days in Venice, the enchanting floating city full of canals and old-world palaces. Drive through the rolling hills of Tuscany, take a cooking class, drink lots of wine, explore charming old towns, and if you don’t get gelato at least once a day, you’re not doing it right. On the Amalfi Coast pinch yourself in picture-perfect towns like Positano, Capri or Sorrento where you will drink limoncello, swim in the sun, and soak in la dolce vita.
Iceland
Iceland is one of those destinations where the colder is better, so you may want to go in the middle of February! Flights will be far less expensive than if you were to go in June, when most people travel and most honeymoons occur. In Iceland, you’re sure to get some amazing photos and experience some otherworldly scenic views. Plus, the colder it is, the more you get to snuggle with your honey, right?
Mexico
Countless spa treatments and centuries worth of history and tradition later, there’s no doubt that Mexico will impress any newlywed couple. The charm of the Yucatan Peninsula will sweep you off your feet and have you falling right into honeymoon bliss. Lay by the pool and book a rejuvenating spa treatment at Chable Resort and Spa or step back in time and venture to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, famous for its ancient Maya ruins.
