WELCOMING FALL WITH MY FALL BUCKET LIST…
The time for falling leaves and apple cider has finally come upon us and I couldn’t be more excited. It also means that is time for my fall bucket list. Whether you’re a fan of carving pumpkins or having a Halloween movie marathon, there is something about fall that makes it a favorite for all of us. I have rounded up all of the best fall activities for my fall bucket list to make this the best season of the year!
Switch out my closet
The time has come to pull out all my sweaters and coats that I stored away months ago. Though it won’t be cold enough for all of these pieces yet, I am going to gradually start incorporating some lighter fall pieces into my outfits. It is time to put away the sundresses until next year!
Add hyaluronic acid to my skincare regimen
As my closet needs a seasonal update, so does my skincare routine. With the change of the weather, my skin’s needs are going to change too. In the summer I can get by with a lightweight moisturizer, but as the weather gets colder, I am going to need to bring more hydration into my skincare routine. I will reach for heavier hydrating creams with vitamin B and hyaluronic acid.
Try a dark lipstick look
After a summer of bright lipsticks, I want to switch my makeup look with a dark lips this fall. I am attending a fall wedding, and I think it is the perfect time to pull out something fun and different! Some tips for doing dark lipstick are to know what shade is best for you, exfoliate your lips prior, and keep the rest of the makeup look simple.
Actually, decorate for fall
What better way to get in the season’s spirit than to surround myself with reminders of it? I am on a mission to find my next fall centerpiece — the choices are as endless as my obsession with pumpkin spice lattes (no judging, please). Since I love to fall, my house might as well look like it does too. Pumpkins are of course a must, but also mums, fall foliage arrangements, felt leaf bunting!
Bake a pie from scratch
The only thing better than dessert is the dessert that is homemade. I am contemplating baking an apple pie, a pumpkin pie, or both. I can’t wait for my house to smell as delicious as the pies taste. Baking fall treats is one of my all-time favorite activities and an added bonus is that I can eat a second slice!
Learn how to cook a new soup recipe
Ah, fall means cozy soups are back! I love soups, however, my soup repertoire is limited but I am a firm believer that trial and error in the kitchen can be seriously fun. This fall, I want to learn a tackle a new soup recipe! First on my list is pumpkin soup.
Have a scary movie marathon
I plan on getting into the Halloween spirit by having a scary movie marathon. My plan is instead of going out one weekend, to grab a bottle of wine, a bowl of popcorn, and a cozy blanket to cover my eyes, and get comfy on the couch. Some of the best classics you can never go wrong with are Hocus Pocus, Scream, Halloween, and The Shining.
Pass out candy to *adorable* trick-or-treaters
Little kid costumes are the absolute best — and complimenting them makes them SO proud. My plan is to grab some really good candy and hunker down for a scary movie in which frequent interruptions will be appreciated.
Take in the fall scenery
Sometimes I forget that the simplest of activities can also be the best. Walking through your neighborhood with a friend, or even by myself. Just appreciating all the beautiful colors of fall, the crackle of the leaves beneath my feet, and the cool air on my face. I might even take it up a notch, find a forest preserve with a trail near me, and take a hike.
Enjoy a fun latte
I like pumpkin spiced latte and I am not ashamed to admit it! I think the fall has some of the yummiest coffee flavors. However, there are so many other fall flavors like salted caramel, caramel apple spice, and chai tea that I would like to try. My plan is to enjoy something warm and yummy this season.
