May is one of the best times to be outside. I want to make the most of the last month of spring and start prepping for summer. Wherever you live, I hope you’ll soak up some quality time outdoors and enjoy some of the things I am excited about listed below. Here are ten fun ideas for how to make the most of your May:
TEN FUN THINGS TO DO IN MAY
One. Create a small herb garden in your balcony to use in your summer cooking. Visit one of the many flower shows that pop around this time of the year and buy all the herbs you need. Basil for salads and pasta dishes, thyme for barbeques, mint for cold teas and mojitos and lavender for sweet treats.
Two. Spoil your mother with finding the perfect gift for Mother’s Day. A little token of appreciation to the woman who has given you everything.
Three. Start each day this month with a delicious breakfast.
Four. Read the new book of Lauren Graham, In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It. A short essay that is the perfect read and gift for graduates. Our beloved Lauren Graham gives advice to graduates and reflects on how to stay true to yourself.
Five. Invest in a new floral dress.
Six. Organize a girls-only day out with lots of rose and laughs.
Seven. Cook a recipe from Joanna Gaines’ new cookbook Magnolia Table.
Eight. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a tequila cocktail. Tacos are optional, just kidding, they are mandatory, of course!
Nine. Invest in a straw basket bag. It will double as the perfect grocery bag and beach bag as well.
Ten. Plan your summer vacation. Revisit your travel bucket list, choose your destination and start planning from there.
