WELCOME to SHOEGAL OUT IN THE WORLD! I can’t believe that this day finally has come. It’s been a long journey that took longer than I anticipated but I couldn’t be happier for the end result and I am sure you will love it too. I was toying with the idea of migrating to WordPress after reading amazing things from fellow bloggers about the abilities it provided. So last November I pulled the trigger and started the process of “moving” Shoegal Out In The World from Blogger to self hosted WordPress. However due to lack of the necessary skills to do this process on my own, I was thankfully recommended to Lisette Harrington of High Notes Design, who completed the whole migrating process successfully. Thank you Lisette, I couldn’t have taken this step towards improving Shoegal Out In The World without your help!
I was sad to see my old design on Blogger created from the talented Melissa Bandera of Jelly Design Studio going down but at the same time excited for the whole redesign process and working on a new blogging platform. For the redesign of Shoegal Out In The World I worked with 17th Avenue Blog + Graphic Design and after weeks of back and forth e-mails and messages last week the new template of Shoegal Out In The World was finally uploaded. During the weekend and the last couple of days I added the final touches and today I am ready to WELCOME you all to the new SHOEGAL OUT IN THE WORLD!
WHAT IS NEW ON SHOEGAL OUT IN THE WORLD
I wanted the Shoegal Out In The World to have a clean sleek look with a black & white color palette, but also to have a beautiful unique design. The first things you notice when you enter the Shoegal Out In The World are the new logo and the landing homepage. In the homepage you can see on the top a slideshow of the recent posts’ images and as you scroll down three boxes BLOG, ABOUT, SHOP, the three recent posts on the blog and in the bottom my Instagram feed. When you click on the BLOG box you will be redirected to the blog’s posts. One of the things that changed completely on Shoegal Out In The World are the post categories. I decide to narrow down the post categories in just three, FASHION, BEAUTY and LIVING. However in order to organize the posts more efficiently for all of you so you can browse through older posts easily, I created subcategories for the three main categories. You can scroll though the subcategories from the drop down menus on the header. In the future more subcategories might be added as the content on Shoegal Out In The World broadens.
On the header you will also see that there added some new features. I have updated my ABOUT & CONTACT pages adding a contact form to make easier of you to contact me. I am always happy when I receive your comments, e-mails and messages. Your support and recommendations is what urges me to improve and become better. I have decided to add a new Q&A page where I answer the most asked questions I have received from all of you. Last but not least, I have updated my SHOP page where I added four categories ACCESSORIES, BEAUTY, CLOTHING, HOUSE & HOME. I have started adding my favorite items that are on my wish list lately so make sure to check it often as I will be updating it regularly.
Small nips & tucks will take place in the next couple weeks aiming to improve your experience while visiting on Shoegal Out In The World along with new and exciting content, collaborations, guest posts and a few surprises. I want to THANK YOU all for your patience while this redesign process was taking place and for your support through the years! You are the moving force behind this little corner on the internet. WELCOME to SHOEGAL OUT IN THE WORLD! Δεν μπορώ να το πιστέψω ότι επιτέλους έφτασε αυτή η ημέρα. Ήταν ένα μεγάλο ταξίδι που διήρκεσε περισσότερο από ότι περίμενα αλλά παρόλα αυτά δεν θα μπορούσα να είμαι περισσότερο χαρούμενη με το τελικό αποτέλεσμα και είμαι σίγουρη ότι και εσείς θα το αγαπήσετε. Η αλήθεια είναι πώς έπαιζα αρκετό καιρό με την ιδέα να μεταφέρω το blog στην πλατφόρμα του WordPress ιδιαίτερα αφότου διάβασα υπέροχες κριτικές και σχόλια από άλλες bloggers σχετικά με τις δυνατότητες που προσέφερε. Έτσι τον περασμένο Νοέμβριο, πήρα τελικά τη μεγάλη απόφαση και ξεκίνησα τη διαδικασία της “μεταφοράς” του Shoegal Out In The World από την πλατφόρμα του Blogger σε αυτή του self hosted WordPress. Όμως εξαιτίας της έλλειψης των απαραίτητων γνώσεων για να κάνω την όλη διαδικασία μόνη μου, είχα την τύχη να μου συστήσουν την Lisette Harrington του High Notes Design, η οποία ολοκλήρωσε με επιτυχία την όλη διαδικασία μεταφοράς με επιτυχία. Σε ευχαριστώ Lisette, δεν θα είχα κάνει αυτό το βήμα προς τη βελτιώση του Shoegal Out In The World χωρίς τη βοήθειά σου!
Ειλικρινά στεναχωρήθηκα βλέποντας το παλιό design στο Blogger, που δημιούργησε η ταλαντούχα Melissa Bandera του Jelly Design Studio, να χάνεται αλλά την ίδια στιγμή χάρηκα για την όλη διαδικασία του redesign και ότι πλέον θα δούλευα σε μία νέα πλατφόρμα blogging. Για το redesign του Shoegal Out In The World συνεργάστηκα με το 17th Avenue Blog + Graphic Design και μετά από πολλές εβδομάδες ανταλλαγής e-mail και μηνυμάτων την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα το νέο template του Shoegal Out In The World επιτέλους ανέβηκε. Κατά τη διάρκεια του Σαββατοκύριακου και των τελευταίων ημερών προσέθεσα τις τελευταίες πινελιές και σήμερα είμαι έτοιμη να σας ΚΑΛΩΣΟΡΙΣΩ στο καινούργιο SHOEGAL OUT IN THE WORLD!
ΤΙ ΚΑΙΝΟΥΡΓΙΟ ΥΠΑΡΧΕΙ ΣΤΟ SHOEGAL OUT IN THE WORLD
Ήθελα το Shoegal Out In The World να έχει ένα καθαρό, κομψό look σε ασπρόμαυρους τόνους, αλλά ταυτόχρονα να έχει ένα όμορφο μοναδικό design. Από τα πρώτα πράγματα που θα προσέξετε όταν μπείτε στο Shoegal Out In The World είναι το καινούργιο του logo και η landing homepage. Στη homepage, μπορείτε να δείτε στο πάνω μέρος ένα slideshow με τις φωτογραφίες των πιο πρόσφατων post και καθώς κατεβαίνετε προς τα κάτω τρία κουτάκια BLOG, ABOUT, SHOP, τα τρία πιο πρόσφατα post του blog και στο κάτω μέρος τις πρόσφατες φωτογραφίες από τον λογαριασμό μου στο Instagram. Όταν κάνετε κλικ στο κουτάκι BLOG θα μεταβείτε στα post του blog. Ένα από τα πράγματα που άλλαξαν εντελώς στο Shoegal Out In The World είναι οι κατηγορίες των post. Αποφάσισα να περιορίσω τις κατηγορίες των post σε μόνο τρεις, FASHION, BEAUTY και LIVING. Όμως προκειμένου να οργανώσω τα post πιο αποτελεσματικά για όλες εσάς έτσι ώστε να μορείτε να κάνετε browsing σε παλαιότερα post εύκολα, δημιούργησα υποκατηγορίες για τις τρεις κύριες κατηγορίες. Μπορείτε να δείτε τις υποκατηγορίες από τα drop down menu στο header. Στο μέλλον μπορεί να προστεθούν περισσότερες υποκατηγορίες καθώς το περιεχόμενο του Shoegal Out In The World επεκτείνετε και σε άλλους τομείς.
Στο header θα δείτε επίσης ότι έχουν προστεθεί μερικά καινούργια χαρακτηριστικά. Έκανα ένα update στις ABOUT & CONTACT σελίδες προσθέτοντας και μία φόρμα επικοινωνίας για να κάνω τη διαδικασία επικοινωνίας λίγο πιο εύκολη. Πάντα χαίρομαι άλλωστε όταν λαμβάνω από εσάς σχόλια, e-mail και μηνύματα. Η υποστήριξή σας και οι προτάσεις σας είναι αυτές που με κάνουν να θέλω να βελτιώνομαι και να γίνομαι καλύτερη. Αποφάσισα να προσθέσω μία καινούργια Q&A σελίδα όπου απαντώ στις πιο συχνές ερωτήσεις που έχω λάβει από εσάς. Τέλος, έκανα και ένα update στη SHOP σελίδα όπου προσέθεσα τέσσερις κατηγορίες ACCESSORIES, BEAUTY, CLOTHING, HOUSE & HOME. Έχω ξεκινήσει ήδη να προσθέτω τα αγαπημένα πράγματα που είναι στη λίστα των επιθυμιών μου τελευταία, οπότε μην ξεχνάτε να την επισκέπτεστε συχνά καθώς θα την ανανεώνω τακτικά.
Μικρές προσθήκες και αλλαγές θα συνεχίζουν να συμβαίνουν και τις επόμενες εβδομάδες στοχεύοντας στη βελτιώση της εμπειρίας σας όταν επισκέπτεστε το Shoegal Out In The World μαζί με καινούργιο και ενδιαφέρον περιεχόμενο, συνεργασίες, guest post και μερικές εκπλήξεις.
